Hi everyone. I'm currently a Sophomore, majoring in Materials Science and Engineering, and well, I'm currently not really enjoying my classes. Choosing engineering as a major was more or less a shot in the dark in that I knew I liked Math and Chemistry, and kinda more-or-less Physics (which has changed, a lot). So far, I don't enjoy the classes at all, and everything that my professors talk about, I'm just generally not interested in.
So, I was thinking about changing majors, because I don't really wanna risk continuing my major. If I were to change my major, it'd be to Biochemistry. My questions are as follow:
1.) How would it look to have two "W" grades to med schools? I'm currently taking two core introductory classes for my major, and I don't so much mind them, but I'm pretty sure I won't be able to pull an A off in them, and it will end up dropping my GPA. I'm currently taking 20 credits--Multivariable Calc (4 credits), Intro to Linear Algebra (3 credits), Analytical Physics 2 (3 credits, +1 for lab), Abnormal Psychology (3 credits), and my two major classes, Intro to MSE (3) and Crystal Chemistry (3). If I drop them both, and never take another W for any classes, am I hurting myself? Should I just stick it out and take the B/B+'s? Or maybe would it be better if I just dropped one?
2.) If I want to transfer into the Biochem major, I need to have both O Chem 1 and O Chem 2 done by the beginning of my Junior year, meaning I'll be taking O Chem 1 next semester (Spring 2014) and O Chem 2 during the summer. How bad does this look? Sadly, unless I want to stick around for another year, I have no choice but to do this. Is this "excusable"? If I do very well in my future chem classes (I'm doing Biochem with a Toxicology specialization), would this be overlooked?
Thanks in advanced, and sorry for the wordy questions. I really appreciate any help I can get. :)
**Edit
3.) I forgot to mention this, maybe you guys can help me, maybe not. I'm not ENTIRELY sure if I'm going to be going to med school, I'm still on the fence about whether I would end up trying to get a PharmD after my BS or if I'd be going for my MD. Am I wasting my time getting a BS if I end up going for a PharmD?

You seem to have too much going in the above message and some of that might be a confusion about what people want to see on your transcript.

Getting a C on a non-science class is better than having a W. There is no requirement to have an A in every class you take.

Crystal Chemistry will be considered a science class. So dropping it would look bad.

20 credits is a lot.

Don’t understand whatsoever what you are saying about O chemistry and why it should be excusable.

RE: Pharm vs medicine

You need to do some shadowing to learn what each career is like, then make a decision.

Both pharm and med schools expect/require shadowing anyway.
