I just finished my freshman year with an A in Spanish 3. I am switching to a new school next year where I will be taking Spanish 4 honors. It as my spanish teacher’s first year teaching and she didn’t do a good job. She taught completely random unrelated stuff. I do not feel I am at a Spanish 4 honors level yet even a Spanish 4 level. I want to take Spanish 3 again but that would look bad. I was thinking about taking lessons over the summer but I probably cannot go from a Spanish 2 level to a Spanish 4 level in two months. I was thinking about maybe taking Latin. If I continue Spanish though, I can take AP in Junior year but for Latin I’d have to start over. What do I do: Stay in spanish and struggle a lot or switch to
another language and miss the opportunity on taking AP classes
Stay in Spanish. Do some review over the summer. You probably learned more than you think. The Spanish 4 class will probably have some review as well. If there are still gaps, you can talk to the Spanish teacher about how best to fill them.
Stay in Spanish : for language, what matters is level reached.
You should take lessons over the summer, or take Spanish 2 at a community college during summer session 2 (covers high school Spanish 3, will be a high-speed review.)
