Hi all,
I have been admitted to Berkeley as an intended Economics major. How strict is this? I have an interest in maths and computer science too and if I really like the classes I take in freshman year in these subjects, I may change my major to one of these subjects. However, to what extent is this possible?
Thank you!
Changing majors within the college of L&S is easy! Actually, although you indicated Economics on your application, you(and everyone else in L&S) is initially undeclared, and you can declare any major you want! To declare Math, I think you need a minimum of 2.0 in the prerequisites. CS is getting more difficult for anyone(no matter what you indicated on your application). You need a 3.3 average in three prerequisites: CS61A, CS61B, and CS70. The CS program here is great and 61A/B are great(some of the most popular classes at Berkeley) so I recommend it!
