Changing major from Economics to Business

I'm thinking of transfering to UCB as Junior.
I know economics and business are in two different department (College of Letters and Science and Haas School of Business).

If I apply to UCB as economics major and gets admitted and decide to change my major to Business, will UCB allow it? Or is it totally impossible?

And one more thing. If I major in Economics for undergrad, is it still possible to get into Berkeley-Columbia Exec. MBA program in Haas?

thnx~

You will have to directly apply to Haas if you want a business major, especially if you are transferring junior year. The business program is two years so you will not have time to switch into it. Even Berkeley students must apply to "get into" Haas business program. They can be, and sometimes are, rejected and most go to a "backup" major. Usually econ.

Executive MBA programs are not for people in, or coming out of undergrad. Executive MBA programs are for executives at corporations who the corporation thinks needs some training, or could use a good name on their resume, typically as a precursor to further promotion - ie, a Director at IBM wanting to make VP but only has a Bachelor'w would undergo this kind of training at that point in their career.

Short answer - Econ will not at all affect your chances of later getting an Executive (or normal) MBA. I personally reccomend if you would like to get an MBA later in life, major in Econ - that way, you dont have just experience in business, but in Economics (a "real" subject) as well.
