Ok, I really want to be a doctor as I have posted before, and thus I chose biomedical engineering/major for my major at most schools. I love my biomedical research right now, but I am not 100 percent sure I will become a doctor as it is tough and rigorous. The strange thing is that if I didn’t end up being a doctor, I would love to go in to business. I have learned that you don’t really need a science major for getting in to med school, so would it be smart to change my major to business and get the pre-med requirements done additionally.

I chose economics as my major to avoid any problems like that. I'm torn between law and medical school, but I've also been interested in business school. I didn't want to limit my options to any one career, so I chose economics. If you really think you might change your mind about being a doctor, you should probably change your major, especially since medical school doesn't require a certain type of major.

So, how easy is it to change my major at orientation...when is the best time to change?

I don't know the answer to your question for sure...but I think contacting the school would be the best move. I think I posted on one of your posts before in the cafe...you sound cute =)

:) Thanks UCaliGirl9. I just talked to my UCLA girl friend and she said I can switch out, but it might take a quarter.

Depends on which school, but a lot of schools don't lock you into a major until sophomore year so you don't have to decide until then.

By the way...I applied to UCB and UCLA engineering.
Now it seems pretty stupid if I applied engineering if im going to switch out of it as its harder to get in to.

lol perhaps, but it's better to leave yourself room to decide. Engineering isn't very flexible.

yeah...i guess it was an alright decision because it is unbelievably hard to change in to the engineering school. My friend says its a snap to get into letters and science from engineering. Oh well.

So you are leaving yourself the most options right now. You can continue engineering or switch out. I think you're worrying too much.

Yep I am. This is the first time I have really worried about college stuff. Ok, I am going to go back in my room and watch surf movies.
Thanks, zante

I want be doctor so i get lots of money and buy nice house in U.S.A. how i become doctor?
