Right now I am a pre-nursing student at a local community college, I have been debating and having second thoughts on switching my major from nursing to psychology, but I am worried that it may be a useless major? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Any advice
What kind of advice do you want? Psychology isn’t a useless major. Most psychology majors get jobs and make middle-class salaries. But only you can decide whether or not you should change your major.
My H was a psych major. He went on to law school and often says that his background in psych has been invaluable in dealing with people. He specializes in real estate and trusts and estates, both areas where you are often involved with people who are emotional and, on occasion, irrational.
The major is what you do with it. If you are a psych major who just ‘coasts’ through college, then you may not get a good job. But if you use your college experience to develop marketable skills, network with professionals, etc, then you will be able to develop a solid career.
I am only a senior in high school, but my math teacher was a psych major in college. She told me that it’s difficult to do much with a psychology degree unless you go to grad school, so she had to go back and ended up a teacher. This is just her personal experience, so I would take that with a grain of salt (or whatever the expression is :))). Best of luck!
^That is, indeed, one person’s personal experience. There may not have been much that she could find that she specifically wanted to do, or with the experience that she had, or a variety of other things. But it is very possible to find satisfying work that pays a middle-class salary with a psychology undergrad major.
