<p>Is it very hard to change majors at UIUC (like within the college of engineering from one major to another)?</p>
<p>I was just at UIUC for engineering open house and a dean answered this question. He basically said that it depends on the program. Mechanical Engineering is supposedly always flooded with students, way more than they can handle, so it’s very difficult to get in there. Other disciplines are less so, and if you keep your grades pretty high you’d probably be able to do it. This is just what I picked up… maybe there are others who can be more specific.</p>
