changing math 2 to math 1?

Ive been getting pretty low scores on the math 2...and being that the test is saturday, i took a math 1 practice test and did a lot better on that than the math 2. would it be better to switch the math 2 to math 1 and get a closer to an 800 on math 1 than to get an average score on math 2?

No… Math II has been known to be easier than Math I (because of a better curve).

The nice curve on math L2 isn’t going to compensate to the point that you can be weak in math and still score well. I think it depends on what the OP is actually getting on the practice tests (which I assume are real CB tests, otherwise this discussion is not particularly meaningful). A 750 on the L1 (94th percentile) is going to look better than 600 on the L2 (33rd percentile), IMO. But a 700 L1 vs a 650 L2 would be a tougher call, and probably L2 would be better in that case.

I’m thinking about that too! I’m too stressed to take math 2 plus I didn’t have time to review the material. So I’m thinking of just taking math 2 in october instead. I’m usually good in math (710 on SATI math section) so should I take math 1 subject instead tomorrow?

Or should I just don’t take any and study the math2 material over the summer and take it in october??

i was planning to do that too but then, i realized if i didnt do well on teh sat in june, id have to take it again in october, so the subject test tomorrow is what i get but id think it depends if youre taking the sat’s again. if youre not then, go for the math2 in october.

I think there’s SATs in November! And for EA/ED for most colleges, November SATs are the latest ones they’ll take!

I disagree. I have read across the board that a 700 is a 700 is a 700. The percentiles are different because of the wildly different caliber of students. One must also remember how few students take any SAT subject tests at all. I scored 730 Math II and 730 USH and I don’t think it hurt my admissions decisions.

if i retake it in november, and apply early decision to college, how does that work? it says that i can send it by january or something…but does that pertain to early decision too?
