changing schools. CIT to MCS

I got accepted to Carnegie Mellon CIT for materials engineering, but around January (after applying to cmu) I realized thay I want to go to med school after graduation. So I was wondering about how transferring schools works in Carnegie Mellon. I know many people want to go to MCS to CIT or to SCS, but I never really heard how it goes the other way around. I know cmu isn’t the best school (bc of grade deflation) for a premed track, but I want to try my best anyways.

So my question is,
Is there any way I can switch from CIT to MCS before my sophomore year? like during second semester or earlier?

And as I am going for the premed track, do you think there will be enough overlapping courses during my freshman year in CIT that it won’t affect me that much? or would I have to overload on classes later for my prerequisite courses?

Thanks in advance.

I got accepted to mech engg cit… i want to change to SCS or Computer engg in CIT. Any body out thr ?

@USUG21 I heard that that transfer is definitely much harder, and will require at least an year to take certain subjects and maintain a descent gpa.
