As you guys can tell English is not my first language, but I really dont think there’s a need to take TOEFL since I’ve lived in the U.S. for 7 years now (What do you guys think?). With that being said, English is definitely my weakness and may restrict my ability to write strong and convincing essays.
What are some benefits of applying for EA over regular? Should I do EA or regular?
I’ve heard people in state got into Chapel Hill with SAT scores lower than mine but I am just afraid I won’t get accepted, are there any other NC universities similar to Chapel Hill in terms of reputation of difficulty that maybe I can give a shot to?
NO WORDS CAN DESCRIBE HOW THANKFUL I AM TO YOU WHO READ ALL OF THIS AND GIVE ADVICE! THANK YOU!
Update: clubs also include national honors society and national technical honors society
Sorry, in all honesty, I think you have no chance. I think that your SAT score is at least 400 points too low, and your ec’s are incredibly mediocre and display no passion at all. Projected bad essays will seal the deal. I recommend looking at lower level schools. Cross Chapel Hill off the list immediately.
Pay attention to page 8 of this document:

As an in state student you stand a chance if you get your SAT up to at least an 1800. Maybe you can take it again in October. I’m not sure specifically to UNC but applying EA gives you a boost at most schools. Make sure you have some safeties you’d be happy to attend. NC has some great schools. You can always try to transfer in later in your college career. Good luck!
