@Moizzzzzz Still waiting.
@Moizzzzzz what was your major? If you had pre-reqs or a talent based major it’s more than normal to have to wait, however, if your transcripts or anything were late then it’s normal too. A lot of people are still waiting but as long as your common app was in on time you have the same chance as everyone else. You would get an email notifying you no matter what, not just from Chapman but any school. No school is going to leave anyone hanging. I think if you get rejected you may not get something physical in the mail but you get a portal notification no matter what.
HOWEVER, for some reason I never got an email that my portal status changed (but I have received emails for everything else) but if you log into your portal at around 5:30/6 pm, you will see whether or not your status changed. They always send out decisions in the evening at 5 so by 5:30 or 6 your portal would be updated.
If you don’t have access to your portal search your email, you should have received the log in info a few days after your common app was submitted.
Hopefully that helps, good luck
I got a request for midterm grades on Friday… so it looks like I’ll be waiting until the end of April since my midterms aren’t until the week of April 15.
Kinda confused as to why I got requested a midterm report since I’m an English major… no prereqs I don’t think.
@amberly99 do you have less than 45 or 60 units completed? If so that might be why.
I submitted my 3 of my 4 midterm grades (Acct Major, AS-T June 19). Still awaiting my Bus calc exam grade But I figured better to submit 3/4 of the paperwork & keep my app active, than wait another week and turn it all in at once. Not sure if this is a Chapman delay tactic for a rejection? or if this just means I am waitlisted?! Anyone else submit partial midterm grades? Anyone who submitted midterms hear back yet? Dying to know!
I submitted my midterm grades to them a couple of days ago and I haven’t heard back yet either
@YouGotThis1 They don’t waitlist transfers. Since business calc is your pre-req, know with midterm reports, they usually would want to wait until they see that grade. You’re good/not waitlisted, don’t worry. They almost always will ask for a midterm report if you have less than 45 units OR a pre-req is required or in progress for your major.
Has anyone been able to log into their My Chapman account to view financial aid? If so, where did the login info come by, email or mail? My son can’t login and is waiting for someone to help, but they haven’t responded so far.
@sbjdorlo When did he receive his admission? About 2 weeks after admission he will receive an email containing his student ID # and email (last name @chapman.edu). It most likely will not have a password so he will need to call IS&T services and have a reset on his password. At that point he needs to log into my.chapman.edu, however keep in mind it says username not email to log in so the username is just the email without @chapman.edu (so only his last name) and the new password. (He can reset his password I believe on there or through the IS&T website). However, keep in mind that after admission he will receive his financial aid letter in the mail first usually and then be able to access the financial aid online, not vice versa. Any merit aid letter will be received with the admission letter NOT financial aid (unless it is a child of chapman award), but the merit aid WILL show up in the cost summary on your financial aid package (if that makes sense, so basically he will know about his merit aid before any other aid info).
If he has already received his admission AND financial aid letter, go ahead and go online to accept or decline any offers. If he has received his admission, but no letter, and it has been longer than 2 weeks, call the IS&T department at (714) 997-6600 and let them know he has not received his log in info. They will confirm his email address and give him the info + password. Call them, don’t email, because it will be faster since they can only give password info over the phone, not email.
The IS&T hours are: FALL & SPRING:
Mon-Thurs 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Friday 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday closed
Sunday 12 p.m. to 7 p.m
Sorry that was long but hopefully that helps! If you need any clarification just let me know.
Super helpful, @acceptmeplz376. He was admitted exactly two weeks ago so maybe he’ll get an email this week??
He’s gotten stuff in the mail and email- an $8000 music scholarship and a 14K academic scholarship- but no need based package yet. Hopefully, he’ll get that email soon. Right now, Chapman is super unaffordable, so we’ll see what he gets.
Thanks so much for the help!
@sbjdorlo If it was exactly 2 weeks ago it would be totally okay for him to call today, their website says if you don’t get it within 2 weeks then call!
Call about the username and hopefully he can log into the portal. You can also have him call financial aid and see if they already mailed out the letter/if it would be available via the portal. If he calls though they tend to answer and resolve things very quickly. I really hope it works out for him.
Of course! Keep us updated.
@sbjdorlo I’m in the same boat. I called but they wouldn’t give it to me. They told me I have to wait. So annoyed.
@acceptmeplz376 is the my.chapman email literally just your last name? If that’s the case I’m just gonna try and sign in/call for a password lol
@screenname2019 it is but you have to receive it first before they give out any info I think I got it so early because I already committed, otherwise it’ll take a bit but if it’s after 2 weeks you’re allowed to call and they shouldn’t have you wait longer, if they won’t give it then call your counselor
That’s pretty dumb that they won’t give it out. How is my son supposed to know if he can afford it or not without seeing financial aid? Sigh. I guess he’ll call tomorrow.
Hi! Just got accepted today for strategic and corporate comm
GPA: 2.98
AA-T/AS-T: no
accepted to CSUN, SFSU, and CSUF
rejected from CSULB, SLO, and CSLA
waiting on USC, LMU, and UCs
Note that I did not complete IGETC and I am local.
@sbjdorlo he definitely should receive his full financial package within the next two weeks. I would call financial aid and see if they have already mailed it out and also call IS&T and find out why he has not received the email info if it has been 2+ weeks.
Just wanted to give you a heads up though, apparently the school can only give so much money so if his Chapman Grant is lower that is because he got scholarships. (I was originally given grant money then awarded merit aid but upon receipt of merit aid my grant aid lowered). But that is totally different from the Cal Grant so the Cal Grant can still remain higher than Chapman aid. If that makes sense
thank you for such a thorough response. on my status page all it shows is that my transcripts have been received. still waiting on admission decision.
i’m a public health major with a 3.3 GPA. lots of extracurricular and decent essays.
@Moizzzzzz did you apply as health sciences? Because Chapman doesn’t have a public health major (or at least on their website they don’t). If you applied as health sciences, did you finish all your pre-reqs already with a B or better? If you did then honestly you should be fine.
So I called and got my portal. It has my aid info… hoping that’s no all of it cause there’s no way I can afford it. I’m hoping the stuff on my portal is only what Chapman is giving. Maybe more state and federal aid to come? Also am I able to change my password?
Lol nvm I found where to change it
