So I'm now using chapstick so that my lips will stop peeling so much. Anyways, I'm worried that the chapstick will come off whenever I eat. Is it best to apply it when I'm just about to sleep?

Yes, before sleep is preferable, though sometimes it is needed throughout the day and you just have to deal with it.

Use really oily chapstick

I use the natural kinds. They taste good and you dont have to worry about eating wierd chemicals. I dont like the fruity kinds, but the honey one is good.

Recovering addict, here. Whatever you do, don’t do what I did: I had at least two chapsticks on me at all times, applying every ten or twenty minutes or so. When I woke up in the morning my lips would be chapped because they weren’t getting their usual application. I had a million brands and flavors to keep in all my bags and coat pockets. They often wound up in the wash. It was bad.
