ChE opportunities in other sciences after graduation?

Hi i'm going to be a freshman this fall and plan on majoring in chemical engineering-

I was just wondering if a bs in chemical engineering is a viable pathway to a phd in chemistry, biochemistry, or other science fields. I don't really know how that works and whether that would really be practical, but I'm figuring if i finish my bs and don't want to do graduate work, a bs in chE would be more valuable than a bs in chemistry, but i don't want to cut off any options. I'm not worried about working hard and the difference in difficulty between being a chemistry and being a chemical engineering major.

thanks for any help.

definitely go with the chem E degree… As a chem E major you take all but 2-3 of the courses reqd for a chemistry major.

and you will have to schedule some electives as a chemE mjaor so you can schedule some advanced bio to prepare for a phd in biochem.
