Cheap, good pre-med programs?

Can anyone list some colleges with really good pre-med programs that won't cost me a fortune? So far, all of the programs I've looked at have cost around $50,000 a year and I'd like to not be in debt when I start med school. Any help would be great, thanx!

Look into any college that might give you a decent financial aid package whether it be a private or public college. See what schools you would be interested in no matter what kind of school it is (but should be a 4-year institution) and see where it goes from there. The college you attend matters little when applying for med school as long as you excel.

Unless your parents bring home an upwards of 6 digits, you’re bound to get some financial aid. Another thing you should consider is that if going to a private institution (or OOS public) results in ~50k a year, and you can’t do that, then what about a state school, what state do you reside in? Going to your state school isn’t a big deal and will not limit you on your pathway to medicine.

Don’t look at the sticker price either, especially for private schools. The private schools I applied to gave me A LOT of money (well, lowered the price for me at least), bringing the cost down to what I would pay for public schools that also gave me scholarships. Apply to the schools that interest you regardless of price and you may be pleasantly surprised once you receive your financial aid award. Keep in mind this may depend on things other than family income like EC’s, grades, test scores, etc. You may also be invited to attend scholarship competitions at certain colleges you’re accepted to which can bring in even more money.

ok thanx for the help. and for clarification I live in Georgia where there aren’t schools

Wait, what? There are no colleges in GA? I live in Georgia and I’m currently thinking about colleges and pre-med programs- there are DEFINITELY colleges here.

I haven’t researched as much as I should, but you could definitely consider the public university UGA (I hear there’s a good Honors program). I’ve also been thinking about the private university Emory, and yes, it’s also in GA. On top of that, GA has the HOPE scholarship if you plan on staying in-state, if that helps the cost for you.
