Chem 112A: Have you ever needed the whole 5 hours?

So, since Chem 112A is inconveniently 5 hours long and only offered from 1-6, I'm wondering if I really need all 5 hours since I'm planning on taking Thai 1A (which isn't always offered), and for neatness of schedule purposes, Chem 112A lab on a Wednesday or Friday. This gives me a schedule conflict of...only 30 minutes (specifically the last 30 minutes of Chem 112A lab conflicts with the beginning of Thai 1A). I'm really tempted to just have a conflict, since (judging from Chem 4A/4B) I don't think the entire lab period will be used very often.

But before I do that, I'd like to get some experience from people who have already taken Chemistry 112A: have you ever used the whole 5 hours?

Generally, yes. Sometimes you can get lucky and finish in 4 hours. The first few labs you’ll probably finish really early though, but as you progress in the semester, you’ll usually have to be able to complete a synthesis, work-up your reaction, run TLCs, do an extraction, re-crystallize your product, and take a melting point, so that usually runs close to the very end.
