So I've currently got an 79.99% in Chem 1a, and with the final less than 3 weeks away, I just wanted to make a thread about this course. I was looking at some of the older threads about Chem1a, and from what I can tell, the final is only a grade dropper, which seems strange because I expect they fit it to a curve so some people must raise their grades. I need like a 93% to get an 85% in the course. Is this possible? What is the max the will lower the curve for an A-. Also, from past students, what do you suggest studying, did there seem to be a focus on anything in general?

On an unrelated note, I disagree with the structure of the course. The concept behind offering multiple points for multiple answers on MC problems gives a reward for guessing and may artificially raise the average. The free response questions are completely unlike AP, in the sense that in many instances, they require you to pull upon seemingly abstract knowledge (cabbage juice, partition equilibrium in the lungs involving nicotine) and make extrapolations which leads to a wide range of possible answers. Anyways, thats what I have to say. Chem 1a thread woot.
