<p>I know in some of the threads there has been some disscusion regarding the chemistry program at UM. Some of the stuff really wasnt too good so I wanted to start a thread about the chemistry program at UM. I am a prospective UM student seriously considering majoring in chemistry so I just wanted to hear some insight/comments. Thanks alot</p>
<p>rjmxc-My S is a freshman biochem major. As I stated on the other thread, it is unfortunate that aspariguy visited the chem dept on a Friday as there are not many classes and no labs scheduled. S says the chem dept is very active and he has learned so much this year. Chem is his toughest class and he puts in alot of hours. He also attends chem workshops to boost his understanding of the class material.</p>
<p>If you have any specific questions, let me know and I'll ask him. What other schools are you considering?</p>
