CHEM Free Response PREDICTIONS

Does anyone have any predictions as to what will be on the free response for chem (particularly in the first half w/calculator) I'm hoping there won't be a full acid and base titration...any other thoughts?

I think #7 is going to be something to do with periodic trends, electron structure and hybridization/shapes

Acid/Base titration or solubility equilibrium

Kinetics

Experimental

Equations (duh)

Electrochem

Periodic trends

Do you really think they’ll want you to do the entire titration? Would that comprise all of question number one?

nothing on thermo??

3 or 5 could very well be thermochem.

Ya I think number one would be titration.

Would that comprise the entire question or just a part?

When i took chem, our teacher told us that number 1 is always a titration/buffer question, and sure enough last year’s exam had titration/buffer as number 1, from there on I think anything significant is fair game.

Eww…those titration curves take like 30 minutes to do completely! :(

May God help me if electrochem is one of the topics…

Damn. I hope there isnt any lab question on the test. Would be screwed since my teacher only gave us 4 labs to do throughout the year and i forgot all…

im feelin an electrochem this year. and solubility…

my teacher said there always is a lab essay question

we can just hope its something easy like collecting a gas over water!

watch it be spectrophotometer lab, lol

^ I hope it is. I’ve actually done that one.

I did it too…doesnt mean that I remember anything about it! :P

lol hopefully its similar to the spectro lab from bio cause we didnt do it for chem:P

Number 1 is always equilibrium (be that acid/base, Ksp, Kp, or regular Kc equilibrium)

So here are my guesses (I took 2009 practice today and am partially putting what was NOT on that exam because I feel like they wouldn;t make the tests too similar):

Ksp

Kinetics/Rates

Electro

Reactions (obviously) ,I’m calling a neutralization, a redox, and a decomposition

Lab - determining moles of H20 in a hydrated salt

IMFs and their relation to properties (ex: boiling and melting points)
