So here is the deal. Right now I'm really interested in science (still in high school), by the time I graduate I'll have taken: AP chem, AP physics, bio 105 (CAPP class), human genetics/biotechnology, into to bio at local LAC, and genetics at LAC. I've been looking at becoming a research scientist or molecular biologist with a focus on infectious diseases. So in college I'd end up being a pre-med x major. Now here is the hard part. As of now, my two big prospects are either chemE (most likely at UW Madison since I'm in-state, speaking of which they're killing Nebraska lol) or molecular biology at Macalester, St. Olaf, WashU, or UW Madison.

I know chemE would be extremely difficult, yet doable, but still end up with a lower GPA. However, if I don't get into med school, I could still work in something that is somewhat related to biological systems of some sort, right? Plus chemE provides a unique and technical perspective to biological processes which I find fascinating. I'm just inquiring regarding your advice because I'm really hung up on this :(

Thanks for your responses.
