Chemical Engineering at UIUC

So I just got admitted as a Chemical Engineering major.

I'm kind of confused though, because on my status check it said that my school was the LAS, or the college of Liberal Arts and Sciences.

But then I look under the Engineering school's websites' majors and Chemical Engineering is under there.

Needless to say, I'm pretty confused. Am I in the school of engineering or LAS? Or both? Could I say I got into the college of engineering?

Department of Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering, University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign

that's the chem engineering website.

thanks guys

Well, if you click on the link you provided and read the “About Us” section, you’ll be less confused…

You are officially in the LAS college–a quirk of history in that it was placed in the Chemistry department in LAS over 100 years ago when the program was formed. For most real purposes you are essentially in the college of engineering since Chem E department is treated as a department with the college of engineering

Iam a sophomore at a community college planning to transfer to UIUC for chemical engineering. How hard is it to get into this program? Do i need to take organic chemistry 1 and 2 at UIUC or at community college? In the prerequisites list UIUC website did not mention organic chem. but they do require it to graduate from the major. Iam soo confused. If i take it at community college i will save a lot of money.
