Chemical Engineering & Pre-Med

I was admitted to McCormick for the class of 2014 and intend to major in chemical engineering. I also will be pursuing the pre-med requirements. From your experience/knowledge will I be able to have a social life with this major. I would love to play tennis (IM or club), join a sorority, volunteer, etc...
In your opinion, will this curriculum be so rigorous that I will not be able to pursue other interests?

Thank you!!

You’ll be fine. No college major is that restrictive.

you’ll be fine… since you are going chemE i suppose you are great at chem.

usually chem’s the killer, genchem/ochem/pchem.

you’ll be fine.

This will be quite challenging, be sure to anticipate many sleepless nights (coming from BME and pre-med)

I’m a chemical engineering major. At the beginning of our thermodynamics class our prof made us all introduce ourselves so we could get to know each other. Almost all of my classmates had a couple extra-curricular activities that they were involved in so I wouldn’t worry about it.

There is actually not much pure chem in chemE, just two quarters of organic.
