does anyone know how hard this class is? i didn't really learn anything in my high school chemistry class so i hope this one won't be too hard.

Not a problem. You’ll go over all that stuff that you were supposed to learn in high school but didn’t during the first couple of weeks. You’ll have to learn it fast, but it’s not difficult. Nothing to worry about, really. Chem 1 and Chem 2 are kind of blurred together in my mind, but I don’t remember either of them being too difficult. I didn’t study nearly enough and got Bs. But if you do all your homework (like I should have), then it shouldn’t be hard to get an A.

Are we required to take Chem 301 or does taking any sci course (bio, phys, chem) satisfy the UT req? I’m in Plan II and I was thinking of just taking bio.

The Plan II staff will tell you all about that at orientation. Don’t worry. They’ll steer you in the right direction. If you absolutely MUST KNOW NOW for some reason or if you already went to orientation and came out without an answer to this question, I can ask my Plan II friends. However, if you are doing Plan II, I hope you plan on double-majoring to get a useful career field out of it and staying for 5 years, because that’s what the cool Plan II kids do. lol.
