How is the chemistry or pre-med program at South Carolina?

Any one ...

The Chemistry program is ranked in the top 50 nationally ....I have no idea about pre-med.

Scmember,

Where did you get your information on the rankings for the Chem department? I'm not aware of any comprehensive rankings for undergraduate programs such as Chemistry and Biology.

My daughter is looking at USC for Premed and will likely major in Biology or Chemistry. We've done pretty extensive comparisons of both programs against her other choices and both majors look very solid. What has most impressed us though is the pre-professional advising program. Other universities have similar advising programs, but USC's seems to be stellar. My daughter is also drawn to USC because of the Minor in Medical Humanities. Check out the pre-professional site at http://www.sc.edu/oppa/.

Thanks...that helps a lot. I am majoring in chemistry and will be doing pre-med. Everything does look pretty good!

"The department is also ranked among the top 50 chemistry departments in the nation. The department is ranked in the top 20 nationally for the number of doctoral graduates it produces annually."
