<p>Hey guys,</p>

<p>I really like chess and want to use it as an extracurricular very badly. Unfortunately the last time I played rated USCF was in 2011, and since then I haven't had time to go to tournaments because there are few around here; thus my 1300 rating hasnt changed. I play online a lot at chess.com and the Free Internet chess server but obviously those don't really count so does anyone have ideas on how I could show my interest in chess better? Thank you all so much!!</p>

<p>I’m in a similar situation as you. I suggest that you actively participate in your school’s chess club. If your school doesn’t have one, you should find a chill teacher and a few of your friends and create one! I have been extremely active in my school’s chess club ever since freshman year and now I am the 2013-2014 year club president.</p>
