Has anyone attended either of these programs or has had a child attend one of the programs? They both sound really enticing and offer programs that I am highly interested in. I was the most concerned about the re-integration back into boarding school after attending one of these semester schools. Does anyone have any experience with either program?

No problem returning to school. I know my school actually encourages applying and attending. It’s a great experience for 11th grade. You have to apply during 10th grade no matter which semester you choose the next year. They offer very rigorous academics. It’s no vacation! Go for it.

Thanks kentschoolie!

Anyone else have any opinions on these programs?

Sometimes it’s easier to get into spring/fall if you apply late and you should contact the admissions office.

Spring is generally better because you don’t have to go right back to your home school and the only reason not to is sports. I went to Chewonki so feel free to message of you have questions.

Also consider HMI in Colorado (High Mountain Institute). It’s very similar to both The Mountain School and Chewonki but in a very different environment. All three programs are phenomenal!
