I live one hour west.

Yay!

this is so scary. im going to college.

Yeah i was really happy to see i made it in.

I was surprised to see that the dean of admissions didn't even sign the acceptance letter though- there was just a little squiggle under his name. Did anyone else have that or am i just unimportant?

I saw that, and for some reason I found it really, really amusing.

Haha yeah Im not complaining though. It was great to open that little flap on the envelope and see 'welcome'. Good luck to everyone who hasn't gotten their letters yet.

post your acceptance/rejection/deferral in the results thread please. :)

I'm mentally masochistic. I like academic pain. That's why I applied to UChicago.

I'm so excited!!!

Yes! Mission Accomplished!

hi all,

congrats class '10!!

i just wanted to double check about mid-year reports. there wasn't anything (i don't think) in the acceptance package about filling out a mid-year report. Do we do it online? Or is that only for people who were deferred or are applying regular?

thanks!

yeah- you do it online. It becomes available at some point in January and it's due soon after. It's for everyone.

Class of 2010 :-) Too happy to even speak. At least there are others who don't think I'm crazy for being so excited.

Was U of C everyone else's first choice?

i'm in! i'm scared because of the rumors coming out of there though.

Ive heard some rumors about it too. Mostly from a girl who said that she went for an overnight visit and they took her out into the park in the middle of the night where it was raining, and a bunch of students and she were singing songs and drinking all night. She was terrified.

funny. very funny. no it's just that my friend goes there and she says that she can't really see me there ecause it's very serious and studious, and i'm more of a bubbly speak-my-mind type, tons of energy.

i don't really see myself there but my parents want it.

I'm not the most studious person in the world; I'm not bubbly (well, only when I'm flirting with really cute guys), but am prety laid back......an academically rigorous enviroment keeps me on my feet though.....so, you won't be alone.

Ha Esquared, it's going to be interesting going to school with you :p I think I'm going to have more than enough academic motivation next year - I've been sort of bored throughout high school and my grades weren't stellar, but this is exactly the sort of atmosphere I was looking for. I'm one of those people who "see themselves" at Chicago.

haha, yes....i make an excellent person to high five in the hallway

dude, esquared. you're everywhere. i'll probably meet you next year at uchicago. it should be...interesting.

hahah eric everyone wants to meet you.
my my arent you famous now.
oh eric.

I'm not "bubbly" at all. Ever. But I am pretty happy and laid back about, well, everything. I am not super studious. I slack off. I procrastinate. Like, that's what I'm doing right now. I'm supposed to be writing a poem for english.... I realize that I will have to do work at Chicago, though. I just haven't faced that realization.
