So when do we get a financial aid estimate from UChicago? Do they offer full tuition for those who make less than $60,000 a year?

It should come on December 24th. Chicago eliminates loans for families under $60,000 but it does not guarantee a full-coverage of all expenses. But for those of us under $60,000, the estimate should be accommodating.

What if you’re slightly over 60? Like $65k or so?

I don’t know. It could not foresee it being too much of a penalty, but loans will factor into your package slightly.

So there wouldn’t be loans but I would be expected to contribute a certain amount every year?

I have to get in two extra letters because my dad isn’t paying for my education… he’s not"in the picture," but they apparently need two letters confirming this from some official source. I hate this kind of stuff! And, they need the letters by Thursday, or I’m not getting an aid estimate until the RD pool does.

if you’re UNDER 70K, you get half of your loans replaced with the Odyssey scholarship.

We make ~69K a year, and FA makes me pay about 11k a year. Cheaper than a state school.

So we should expect our FA estimate next week?
