Chicago: Where hell freezes over

... While the Canadians strap on their snowshoes and plow through -5 degree blizzards.

People are worried that they won't be able to survive Chicago's winters, but remember that it is the 3rd largest city in the US, so it must be survivable.

haha phuriku, its true... i live in florida and since its very rarely 60 degrees here (during the daytime at least), i'd say anything below 65 we're cold.

I love cold :)

It wasn't that bad this weekend.

As a native Chicagoan, the cold weather is manageable, what sucks are the wild temperature fluctuations. The potholes are killing my car.

haha, well what do you expect from us Floridians? we spend 99% of the time sweating, so we're really just not ready for anything even remotely cold!

you guys make me feel better though, because really the only objection I get from my parents about Chicago is, YOU'RE GOING TO FREEZE! I would expect them to be more worried about how much it costs to go there, since we are in no way rich, but whatever, I'm not complaining!

If it's cold, you can put on as many layers as you need. You can't (always) take off clothes.

I happen to find the snow and cold weather rather nice. Winter is my favorite quarter for academic productivity too-- fall and spring, it's too beautiful outside to get anything done.
