So I was accepted to Chico for the CS program, but it doesn’t look too god for the other schools I applied to. Is the program at Chico any good? Would there be plenty of opportunities after I get my bachelors? Do I have a chance of getting into grad school at USC or Irvine if I went to Chico?
My son is a fairly recent Chico/Finance grad. Chico has a solid CS program. All the big tech firms from the Valley and beyond attend their career fairs and recruit their graduates. You won’t find it hampering your employability. There aren’t many local tech firms so, you will need to leave the area for summer internships but, that’s true for lots of places.
As far as grad school, it depends a little what you want to study but, for most programs a high GPA from and accredited college, high test scores (GRE or whatever) and some relevant experience will do the trick. You should be able to piece those together at Chico (or any other CSU).
Congrats and good luck
My former boss for many years at a couple of companies is now more or less at the top of the mountain as a VP at Google. CS major at Chico, a while back. I heard it’s a decent program.
