Hey everybody. I'm going to be starting classes at U of M next semester as a transfer student. I know that in LSA, we need 4 semesters proficiency of a language. I took Chinese in middle and high school, but since I've been in college for a few years, I haven't taken any classes. I was wondering if any of you have taken asianlan 101, 102, 201, and 202 and how difficult they were. My teachers in middle and high school never really stressed tones or memorization of how to write many characters (we used word processing software in computer labs for a lot of work), so I'm nervous that it'll be very hard if after the placement exam, I place into 102 or 201. Should I stick with Chinese or would you recommend I take another language? Thank you!
