Chinese Thread

I am currently a Gr 11 student in Canada, i just want to know what are the requirements in case to get into MIT's Architechture, is it hard as the other majors like Science or Math?

i heard mit candidates apply for general admission first, once they are admitted they can choose from arts&science, engineering, business, architecture, etc.

to be sure, go message "manchu_princess", she's in MIT

hmmm, long time no see ppl.i'm working now at the lib and basically getting paid to do my own stuff.HAHA...anyways,do apply to lake forest ppl.it's really a great school with good diversity.by that i mean you don't get a whole bunch of chinese or whatever, but you do get a whole of intl students who speak fantastic english and we have a lot of fun together as "nerds",doing chem and bio in lib.and ppl are SO accepting here,no one's excluded really.at least i don't feel that way.AND most important of all,it gives great fin aid. i applied to a dozen of schools and this was the most generous one.
good luck ppl!

lol. great to hear that you are loving it there.
yea, we should all start selling our schools...
apply to UT too. apparently if you get into some of their top honors programs, your out-of-state tuition is waived. which is really nice at such a big school as UT.
alright, back to hw now. hope everyone's doing wonderful. keep us updated!
and seniors, good luck with your apps, and enjoy your last year of high school!
...ah, i thought i'd never say this, but i really miss high school

well, i'm counting for the second wave.
i don't have much to sell for wustl. it's certainly not a perfect top school, but it's just out there for people to go to, whoever likes it will be benefited.
en...... i just hope this year's candidates work on their applications with a consistantly planned schedule, NEVER NEVER cram 10 apps in a night or two(i don't even recommend to apply more than 6 schools). i'm touched by those two above, who still make some of their precious time to reply to the thread.

reli? some ppl recommended me to apply for 7-10 schools... well i guess it's kinda difficult isn't it, since what they require are all different...

i've decided to apply for universities next year when i've done my AS levels in the UK... at least by the time i enter i'd have finished my entire A Levels. it's just kinda pointless to cram my SAT II stuff in right now cuz i'd definitely do badly in november if i do. the GCSE syllabus is just too different. so i'm just doing my SAT I this year. phew.

ok tangsdaily,i applied to FIFTEEN schools.yup,i did my homework alright.i don't know,i like to think that i'm spreading a wider net around all these schools so i have a better chance of snaring some.that's my logic, dunno what the rest of you think.YES,DO NOT CRAM.start everything early so if you realize you're missing something you'll still have time to fix it.and please look carefully through all the application requirements.i got into trouble cos i wasn't even eligible to apply to one of the schools.
i know,us busy ppl...

'precious time?' lol. i'd rather live on cc than doing whatever i'm supposed to be doing right now.
yea. i did something like 12 apps on new years eve..and died. well, i did finish all my essasys early in the afternoon (which i started right after finals), but all the formatting and filling-in-the-blanks take longer than you might think. i think you can definitely do 7-10 schools, just don't procrastinate. it's a nice that you are getting your sat i out of the way this year. i had to cram in my sat i and iis the same semester, it wasn't so fun...alright, good luck. and i'm back to my lab write-up...sigh

i can hear the scream from your soul! don't pressure yourself, there willl be a time to indulge and inflate yourself soon

College life is so different ...I hope you ppl are doing fine. I'm taking a bit more than the average courseload for freshmen here and my philosophy professor gives us too much reading~~still, Vassar is great! It's a very friendly and open place..although it's TOO liberal if you know what i mean..but everyone i've met so far loves it.

I'm so glad tomorrow's friday, and I'm going to NYC haha~~there really aren't many interesting places off campus so people go into the city once in a while; and this will be my first official study break~

Seniors who are working hard to get into your dream schools, please be really careful when making your college list. Make sure the college has what you want and love every school on your list, including your safeties.

Okie...gotta do math homework and read. I spent monday and tuesday writing a paper so now i'm behind on my reading...anyway good luck everyone~ those who just started college like me and those who are applying this year!! :)

gosh i'm like having a study break every two days.going to chicago again this weekend for autumn festival.YES!mooncakes,YUMMY...
yeah glad you're having a good time in vassar sweetbee!i'm having a good time in lake forest too.wonderful roommate, love the small campus.listening to SNL on my roommate's computer cos today's friday.
dammit last night ppl were having parties outside my window.screaming every hour.i had to shut the window at 2 in the morning.

lol. i'm already taking my nth break of the day already..:o
haha no. i seriously need to work like a lunatic tonight, this weekend's going to be insane..
seems like everyone's going to have a great weekend..downtown ny, chicago ...wow, i don't even dare to go near downtown austin..lol
so you guys are all liking your classes? i just did my first paper for world lit on 'narrative techniques in king james's old testament', and the prof just handed all the papers back today for revisions since nearly everyone bombed..hahaha
...ah, torturous!
alright, have a great weekend everyone

eeek,do not like chemistry 110.SO EASY....dying of boredom now.the rest are pretty good.biology, calc 2,and psychology.pretty challenging but i can handle it.

sigh..... now i see the hardness of my class. having good times and bad times altogether at wustl. so i'm not selling it to anyone at least for now......

to everyone else, 中秋节快乐, 真是花好月圆,

Happy Mid-Autumn Festival!

---everyone is talking about his or her school now....

so, swarthmore, is

so far so good.

Classes are really really small. The quality of different classes largely depends on the professors. Campus is extremely beautiful and people are very friendly. Quite in line with what i expected. Easy access to Philly, which I utilized a lot just to...procrastinate.......

Learned a lot in these two weeks. Most peers are brilliant, hehe, unlike high school....lol

when it came to high school, i applied to a little bit to many, as tang can testify. it was a disaster.

when it came to college, i focused my energy into a few (early), my app came out better, indefinitely better.

start early, revise often, unique essay for every school you really want to go to, prepare a resume, interview if you can.

sup yo, i m was born in ChangSha, and my family is from XiangTan

i m HS senior and been in the US for a while

anybody else from HuNan?

you need to ask the founder of the thread for demography. 听说湖南卫视的《超级女声》火过了中央台,还有那个李湘。。。。。。lol, i'm distracted from school work.....

hey! i was also born in changsha (my grandparents' home) and lived there for a year or two. used to visit there every year around 春节..fun times.
anyone have mid-terms this week or the next? thought i'd be able to spend this weekend chilling, but just realized that i have mid-terms from friday to tuesday straight...how wonderful!
alright, i'm off to bed. have fun everyone..with your books

wow everybody just knows the tv channel
EDIT: well the outsiders anyway
