regardless of the number, its still a very small percent of our population.

First you said 2% of the US population should speak Chinese, which is approximately 6 million Chinese speakers.

Then you said 100,000 should speak Chinese, which is about 0.0003% of the US, which is a huge difference.

im sorry, i just completely lied about you saying that in the Chinese vs. spanish thread, im sorry, don't take it personally, i just wanted to look like i am winning the debate when we all know i'm not.

Ok...

First, I would never use four commas in one sentence.
Second, I would never apologize even if I actually did lie.
Third, you're pathetic, and I hate you.

Even though it's hard to hate the pathetic...

woahhh jonathan. hate? strong word there. hahaha we will settle this on fb.

I am korean, I only started to speak English fluently strarting 4 years ago.

I am taking spanish III right now, I am in Chinese II. (in korea, we use some chinese characters -we don't speak it) anyways. I would have to say Spanish would be better for you. but you know.. that's just me

here's one vote for spanish.

jonathan, that quote you've got up there is me agreeing with you in the PREP SCHOOL ADMISSIONS FORUM! exactly. i was agreeing with you in the fact that NMH is a better boarding school than the other ones. i certainly wasnt agreeing with you on this topic.

courtney i usually go by the quote, talk to an idiot, you are an idiot". Therefore, you shouldn't talk to me, you may become an idiot.

Also, if you really can't make up your mind you could take Chinese in school since it's much harder and try to self study Spanish or take it online.

..***? I suggest you stop talking. You're just making yourself look even worse.

lol why does it mask w.t.f?

ive got 2 votes.

its 2-0 right now.

No one voted for you.

why am i making myself look worse. im saying that you referred to yourself as an idiot. :)

ps. sorry for hijacking your thread.

shhhhhhhhhhhh.

IMO, it's overkill to learn all those Chinese characters, which is a terribly inefficient system by the way. Besides, many of the people you'd use your Chinese on in business are already learning English anyways.

You can't say the same for Spanish though; there's an entire continent of them.

+1 vote for spanish. And +1 for Jonathan1. Please continue, you guys are funny :)
