Sure, you can compare the statistics, pedigree, etc., but what is on paper can be vastly different to what your son feels is right for him. One school that may fit a kid the best may not be the right school for someone else.

For example, while applying, my "favorite schools" list was well established from what I READ about the schools. However, after I visited the schools and gave it much thought, the schools on my list considerably shifted. What I had disliked before was now one of my top schools. A school that had impressed me beforehand had not clicked with me at all when I visited.

So sure, advice from others is always good, I'm not saying the stats aren't important...but still, it should be your son that makes the decision for himself on which school suits HIM best.

Loomis Chaffee.
Insanely Gorgeous Campus.
Friendly, Sweet people.
Choate: Lots. and Lots. of homework. there is a sense of community.
this is just my opinion however.

I have Nooo idea where you are getting this info. This year, 2 people, I repeat, 2 people, have been kicked out of Choate for drugs or otherwise. yes, 2. It would be one thing if Petersons or Boarding School review or event Choate published this information and you were merely quoting it, but what basis do you have for saying this? This is not true in the slightest.

I agree. You must be careful before posting this info. By the way Little Bo prep, you had posted that you had knowledge that one of the top tier preps was taking kids off the waitlist, but you never posted how you knew that and which school it was. When you make these statements as if they were fact, it is very dangerous.
