(As of now) Please be critical, are they too cliche, to boring, etc?

a) A story of a day when I was looking a one of my textbooks and came accross a scrapbook I made when I was more into the hobby. I will talk about the significance of some of the pictures, such as my family, and the changes i see as the pictures go on.

b) A story of how my dad went to jail unfairly and how that made me reevaluate my views on what exactly is just. How i began to treat people different as a result...

A. Be very, very specific in your word choice. Go for solid imagery, and show your feelings based on the words you choose. This is a good topic. Make sure it reveals more about you than your family though.
B. Can’t really explain why I don’t like this topic, but I don’t. Especially in relation to the first suggestion, which is pretty strong.

i like option B. you should write about how because of your dad’s unfair punishment, you don’t see the american justice system the same way. explain how it was corrupt towards your father, and how it is corrupt to other people, and what we need to change about it.

Figured out why I don’t like #2. It forces you to take on a topic that requires much more depth than you can get in a college essay. You’d pretty much have to resort to cliches.
