<p>Bodenheimer is a clear, concise author who references his material thoroughly. His ideological views are occasionally apparent, and on those *(few) issues his explanations tend to be a little less thorough than they are generally.</p>
<p>A top residency program is more important to me than a top school. Many top schools have lower tier residency programs. Its debatable but I think top school is only a minor factor when residency directors are looking for residents. I think step 1 scores, publications/research, 3rd year LOR's, dean letter, grades, and personality are more important than school rank.</p>

<p>I wish you were right. I agree with your list of things that should be important (except for Step 1 scores, which do not predict resident performance). However, I see people paying lots of attention to medical school attended, and much less than they should to clinical evaluations.</p>
