Hello!!! I am a senior in high school from California deciding where I want to attend college in the fall of 2017.
I was admitted to four schools (UW Seattle, UC Santa Barbara, BU, and GWU) but I would rather leave the West Coast in favor of the East Coast for many reasons. I am going in with a declared Sociology/PoliSci major and eventually want to attend law school or graduate school. I am aiming towards a career in national politics.
I need help choosing between Boston University and George Washington University.
BU:
-Rich, cultured area with many other colleges in close proximity
-Best college town?
-Expensive
-Already know two undergrads going to school in Boston so it would be an easier transition
-Many internships available in the city
-Really amazing alumni program w/ great connections
-Bad dorms
-Professors are available
-Has a campus vibe and school spirit
-Lots to do off-campus on weekends
-Excellent study abroad program
-Grade deflation
GWU:
-Heart of D.C.
-Very politically active
-Got a $20k scholarship/year for four years
-Internships on Capitol Hill (my dream)
-Snobby rich kid school that I might not fit into
-Not as much school spirit/community feeling on campus
-Still expensive
-Dorms are wonderful
-Party school where greek life is important?
-Professors not as available
-Good study abroad program
-More competitive for my major/interests
I have to decide soon and I am very worried that I will not make the right choice. I cannot visit the campuses so I am depending on what I read online and from what people I know who have been there have told me. Either way I am going to be very broke and owe a LOT in student loans so I am trying to push cost of attendance out of my decision, though I know it is unfortunately a big deciding factor ):
If anyone could help me that would be much appreciated!!!
