Looking to get into the Uofchicago's economics graduate studies in the future. I'm an undergrad (sophomore) right now. Can anyone tell me how good the econ programs are at Elmhurst University, Dominican University and/or Roosevelt University?

My planned double major is Economics and Mathematics, please tell me that at least these places have some decent professor LOR contacts I could make should i decide to go to one of these three schools.

I imagine because they are all in the surrounding Chicago area-- that SOME form of relevant contact could be made somehow in conjunction with Uofchicago, if one made an impression, Right?

If you want a chance to get into UChicago, go to the best school that you can get into/afford and get the best grades there, then transfer. Going to a school in the same city won’t help you.

If you’re concerned about decent professors and think you have a shot at UChicago econ, aren’t there some cheaper and more selective public universities you could be looking at? Proximity to Hyde Park isn’t going to matter much, as the above poster said.

What city your college is in won’t matter, as has been stated above, for the same reason that going to Cambridge College wouldn’t help you transfer to Harvard.

Additionally, I’m confused by this thread. You’re an undergrad looking to find a school from which to transfer to UChicago’s grad school? What?
