Choosing a California College for Journalism

I'm transferring to a 4-year this Fall from community college. I have all of my pre-reqs covered. I have been accepted into San Diego State, CSU Long Beach, and CSU Sacramento.

My interests are in public relations and music management, my major is journalism.

San Diego has the most comprehensive PR progem but will take longest

Long Beach is the best location to find a career in my interests

Sac State is closest to my parents and has a short journalism program that I will get out of quickly.

Does anyone have any experience at the journalism progams at these schools? Any advise? need to decide by May 1

Is cost of living an issue or are you financially OK? Obviously Sac is cheapest but if you can afford it, I think either CSULB or SDSU would be good choices.

My former community college j-prof had his bachelor’s and master’s from SDSU. Don’t have any personal experience with it, though.

By the way, what college are you transferring from and did you work on the paper there?

I’m transferring from Folsom Lake College. We didn’t have a paper. I have taken a few journalism classes though. Financially, I can make do wherever I go. I don’t usually have a problem finding a job.
