i’m in my junior year looking at schools for mathematics. i’m really really interested in going to a school in or very close to a large city. i live in virginia and so far on my list i have vcu, university of richmond, george mason, unc charlotte, unc greensboro, and uva. i have a 1520 SAT and 4.165 GPA, and go to a governor’s school for STEM, so i think my chances at all of these are fairly decent, except maybe UVA. i have toured or have tours scheduled for all of these. my problem is, i’m not sure which schools are my best bet for majoring in mathematics, and possibly a master’s as well (but definitely nothing past a master’s). googling can only get me so far, and so if someone who has experience with the math programs at any of these schools could provide input, it would be greatly appreciated!
