Hey guys! I was accepted to Dartmouth, Johns Hopkins, and NYU Stern. I'm having trouble choosing one. First of all, I'm not positive what I want to study. I'm considering economics/finance, biomedical engineering, civil engineering, and computer science. Personally I'm not inherently amazing at science, but I do pretty well. I've never been in a CS class or anything but it seems interesting and I'm learning a bit by myself now. Finance/economics I don't think I would have a problem, and I guess I would like it, but I'm not sure if it's challenging enough (not be be pretentious, honestly, I'm just feeling really conflicted). Beyond choosing a major, I'm also not sure what school I should choose. Dartmouth has relatively easier classes compared to Stern and Hopkins, but Hopkins seems like a friendlier environment. Job-wise, Stern seems like the best choice, but it seems so cutthroat. HELP PLEASE

Corporate Finance- Stern or Dartmouth

BME- Hopkins

Anything else- Dartmouth

Dartmouth will have very good placement for corporate finance jobs as it is an ivy league school, Stern is good and is located in NYC (obviously), so the job placement out of Stern will be fantastic as well. All in all, you seem to not know what you want (Different areas of engineering/finance route)…and because of that, I would definitely go to Dartmouth - Best opportunities.

That person is obviously very misinformed. Not only is Hopkins well known for BME, but it has amazing programs in writing and history, international relations, physics, engineering, and is significantly better than dartmouth in engineering (including CS). I’d look at hopkins much more in detail and not trust people who don’t know anything about the school besides the fact that its BME program is #1
