Hello, I am having trouble choosing between majoring in earth science or communication. I enjoy photography a lot, and read online that going into communication is an area of study some photographer go into, and also read about managing social media accounts, which I find interested. On the other hand, I would enjoy a career that gives me the aspects of both working indoors and outdoors, like earth science. Any suggestions? I believe that where I am stuck is that I want to take more photography classes, and a com degree will let me do that, I have also noticed more job openings, that type of degree just isn’t my personality, thats why I look at earth science, working indoors and outdoors, but there aren’t many job openings and most suggest a masters, which I am not willing to do. Can’t double major or minor, don’t have the time.
What about outdoor photography? What jobs would involve that? Photo journalism? Commercial/Industrial Photographer?
Or would you rather have an earth science/enviromental type job and do photography for fun?
Not sure. I just want to, like I said have the opportunity to work both in and outdoors, but incorporate my photography into it. Im just not sure what the job prospects are for having an earth/environmental science degree, compared to a communication/journalism degree.
