Choosing housing for UC Berkeley

Hi, I am going to be a freshman at UC Berkeley (probably, haven't decided for sure yet). I was wondering what would be the best housing location for me. If I could get some advice from current or former Berkeley students, that would be much appreciated! I am a female English major. I am friendly and enjoy social interaction, but I prefer solitude sometimes and I need peace and quiet to study. I don't mind long walks, but would prefer to avoid them (consider proximity to food/classes/libraries). Ideally, I would like to live in a building that is nice looking on the inside and outside. Also, I am a big neat/clean freak, so if there are dorms that are cleaner/in cleaner areas, please let me know. I do not want to live in an all girl building, but I would at least like to have an all girl bathroom. From what I've been reading, it seems like a suite is best for me. Has anyone seen the suites/rooms that can help me decide? I've been reading a lot about Clark Kerr and the Units and I can't really see the difference. Also, I have some general questions: Are the rooms pretty sizable and do they differ among the different buildings? How are the suites? When it says one suite per bathroom, how many rooms/girls are usually in one suite? Are suites co-ed? Also, I will probably be living in a triple room. How sizable/comfortable are those?
Any general information I did not cover that you would like to let me in on, please go ahead! Thanks for taking the time to read this lengthy post.
