We have the option of choosing pass/fail for any class because of the quarantine. There is one class which I am looking at, which is an art class that I currently have a 92 in but which I may have a much worse grade in, in about four days (out of a complicated situation which doesn’t actually matter for the question). How do colleges evaluate a pass/fail class, or does an elective pass/fail in freshman year matter? (I’m in freshman year high school).
Colleges normally don’t evaluate pass/fail because high schools don’t normally have pass/fail. My advice is, if pass/fail doesn’t affect your GPA, choose pass for any class you don’t have a GPA booster/A in. Especially since its an elective in freshman year, don’t worry about it. Some colleges (Princeton for example) don’t even look at freshman year. Or they only look at your core classes.
