So i'm in the Campuswide Honors Program, and I was wondering if anyone knows anything about honors housing. Is it a good idea? From what I've read on the UCI 2015 facebook group, people think it's "elitist". What are the pros and cons of honors housing?

On a side note, I'm also considering dorming with a friend of mine if I don't choose honors housing. I've heard a lot of different things about dorming with friends so i'm not really sure! Is it a bad idea?

Thanks! :)

Well it depends on what you make of it really. People usually assume that CHP is the “nerd hall” which sure there are those quieter studious people but I have met a lot of people from the CHP halls that are incredibly outgoing and still really smart. I personally know the RA of the CHP hall in Middle Earth and he is AWESOME so he will be great. I don’t know about the ones in Mesa. As far as regular housing goes, it is great! I loved it. Some people love rooming with people they already know, but be sure that it is someone that you know you can live with or that you can easily talk to about conflict should there be any. I have a lot of friends who did that and they are really happy. Otherwise randoms are fun too, I had a triple with randoms and they are my best friends now. Plus sometimes it is nice to keep roommates and friends separate so you don’t get sick of each other right? Hope that helped!?
