CHP vs. Honors Program in Psychology

Hey,

Does anyone know the difference between the Campuswide Honors Program and the Honors Program in Psychology? Do I have to apply and get accepted to both to get in the Honors Program?

I've looked at both sites: HONORS PROGRAM IN PSYCHOLOGY | UCI Cognitive Sciences and College Transfers ...Confusing.

I’m not a big pro at this time, but CHP is a campuswide honors program which entails all majors. Some of the perks include early registration for classes, a lounge on campus, and special recognition. Also, CHP requires a thesis of some sort upon graduation.

As for the psych honors program, it’s just another honors program specifically for psych students. Both will have requirements you must fulfill (if you’re in both, you must satisfy both req’s, but some may overlap).

Joining honors is a great way to challenge yourself. Also, the department will hold you in higher regards (they will be more willing to serve you).

Anyone a transfer student here? If so, did you get invited to the campus wide honors program?

Thanks, jas0n!! That clarifies things.

I’m a transfer student, lufebe. I didn’t get an “invite” per se because I wasn’t in the Honors Program at my CCC, but I qualify for the program. If you weren’t in the Honors Program at your CCC, you have to manually apply with the application on the site. If you’re in it now at your CCC, I believe it transfers over.

Well, I am in the honors program here at my community college. But, I don’t know if I will be in it at Uc Irvine. I just want to know how can we find out

Planet20: Thanks, I guess I was no invited to this program.

Thanks for the help you guys.

So, any transfer student here actually get an invitation?
