Thank you!!!

I did buy some coconut, was going to make coconut macaroon recipe, but the shape will be a Christmas tree, then white chocolate with green coloring or dark chocolate on top. But now I see if I can make coconut macadamia nut too.
Today is the day to bake, it’s raining outside, not much I can do outside.

Y’all are getting me in the Christmas-baking mood. Unfortunately, i am always in the Christmas-eating mood so will try to hold off.

Reporting back on this recipe. It’s good but not as Spicey as the Fortnum and Mason, but my husband and daughter like it a lot. I had to do a lot substitution because this is a British recipe. Brown sugar for the two sugars in the recipe, I grated a whole ginger root the size of a large thump, and maple syrup for golden syrup. It’s a good recipe to eat in the winter, it immediate warms me up. This cookie will save a lot on heating bill, lol.

Figured I’d try something new today, and gave these a shot…hoo boy they are soooooo good! I’ve never made a lemony cookie before so this is a stretch. H loves them!

@FallGirl - is there any secret to making the Black and White cookies? I have never made them before, but H and D2 love the ones from a local bakery so I wanted to give them a try this week. Any pointers you can give me are appreciated.

I need to try these! What is sanding sugar?

After reading the recipe I think you could use turbinado sugar (though it is more brown in color) or this pic below which I bought at Target!

(I didn’t post or make the recipe though so I could be wrong!)

I used decorative sparkling sugar. Came out great, just like the recipe photos!

ETA, my sparkling sugar looks just like what @abasket posted, but a different brand

@showmom858 - I followed the recipe exactly. I took the butter, egg, sour cream etc, out and waited until it was all room temp as stated. And when I frosted them I made sure the vanilla side was dry and set before frosting the chocolate side. While I waited I covered the bowl of chocolate icing with a damp dishtowel.

I’m getting so confused. Which recipe is this? Those look amazing!

Oh sorry! Those are the Lemon Cranberry cookies, the link is in my post above, just a couple posts back.

Oh, I am so going to make these. Ds2 will be here this weekend, and lemon is his favorite. And our lemon tree is yielding fruit so how fun is that?

While chocolate cranberry macadamia nut cookies and lemon bars were a hit at the senior center. I’m baking more today for my art teacher. I used my own Algerian Fremont mandarins for zest.

Who has a tried and true gingerbread cookie recipe they isn’t too time intensive??

For eating not for making houses!

@abasket I finally gave up on gingerbread men. I tried several recipes and none really worked well.

This year, I made Ginger Crinkles instead and they are delicious, and much less stress!

This is the recipe I used but I added a little more ginger…1 1/2 Tsp.

I don’t make gingerbread men either but these are soft and chewy and delicious
