Christmas is Coming

Hi everyone. This will be the first Christmas since our son left home for Kings Point, and I am really having a tough time trying to figure out what to buy him for Christmas. There is not much he needs or can have up there so I am lost for ideas. I did order him a neat knife from the Colorado parents club. If any of the parents or midshipmen have some good ideas it would be appreciated..cjc

A Playstation 3 with a good computer monitor :) that way after acceptance he can plop the monitor on his desk and slide the PS3 under the desk.

Other than that. Cash for when he goes into NYC, CD's, "fun to read" books, a nice piece of luggage (the bigger the better for sea year), computer games, DVD's.

underarmor warm gear bottoms... so when it gets colder than a witches titty you can throw them on under your khakies

What DO YOU KNOW about WITCHES TITTIES?????????

hahaha, that's what i call some old school momma's ownage...
tip: don't say anything on here that you wouldn't say around your mom... especially if she reads this daily...
for Christmas, at least in my case i know a big bag of beef jerky would make my day. if he doesn't already have one, a nice big warm quilt is always a good idea. they're a pain to hide for inspections, but the rest of the time they're great!

Go to the Palm at the Westin Buckhead and get him a gift certificate and put it in his stocking. Dinner at the Palm in NY is a real treat. I think the Palm has the best steaks in NY and the original Palm has been there since 1926 at 837 Second Avenue. Its a great experience.

I also got all of the Merchant Marine Stamp First Day covers (Ebay is great)and had them framed with a picture of LFWB from Acceptance Day

um actualy its a term that my mom has used since i was little... so the real question is ,,, mom what do you know about witches titties or are you not telling us something about your self.....

i was thinking binoculars and a navigation tools carrying case my weems and plath would be a awsome gift... the case is only 20 dollars

I'm getting my son the Bose headphones.

Oh KP10 you got me fair and square on that one. Thanks for a real good chuckle........

LOL and I am forsure you have then all picked out so send the website links to your Daddy.

if your kid's an engineer. take them to the ear doctor and get a custom set of earplugs made with interchangable cores. they might think it's lame now, but come Sea Year they'll be thankful. slow speed diesels are not exactly the quietest things to be around. not the most exciting gift, but something to consider.

there is nothing more ridiculous you can get him than a set of ear plugs. i don't know if you have ever been out to sea, but there is plenty of ear protection aboard ship. everyone will think your a fag anyways, but be my guest and see how "necessary" they really are

nevermind, i withdraw my former statement.
get them something really shiny!!! who cares what it does, as long as it's shiny. and preferably a nice wooden box to keep it in. ; )

Thanks everyone for your ideas. I know he loves the Beef Jerkey and a quilt is a good idea as well. Kp10, send us all the link for the navigation tool case and by the way both my mom and I use the witch's titty phrase and we are from the East Coast....my son probably says it too...the underarmor sounds good. Everyone else, he asked for a Black North Face Beenie...that is an idea you might want to use...Keep the ideas coming this really helps

if he's in Marine Corps Ops he'll want all black running gloves as well. at least that's what the 1/c are telling me.

yea my mom picked the phrase up probably in the mid west (missouri) or when she lived in Jersey... Out west i have never heard anyone say it but her...

for the nav bag...

What is Marine Corps Ops at KP?

speaking of the seperate service options, is there an official CG option? and if so are the jobs limited a KPer can hold in the CG?

CG ops is still in the works. Great gift ideas listed here. The knife from Spyderco is pretty cool I hear from my Mid. Said it beats the Plebe knife all to heck. I thank KP2001 for talking me into it last year. That and the luggage idea were priceless. It was like Xmas in July around here when the Jamz went out so its a good idea to get a few things now. One item he liked alot was an infared led flashlite (if you have a Deckie). Warm clothes & the blankie are great useful gifts. The Gargoyle sunglasses that were put in the luggage where "lost" going through airport security. :(

Never gets cold as a witches titty down here. :) Can't believe they haven't locked down this thread yet. LOL

the Marine Corps Option is a program led by Gunnery Sergeant Houser, USMC. the whole focus of the program is to get Mids ready to go to PLC and receive their commissions as Marine Corps Officers. of all the Ops programs here, Marine Corps Ops is known as the toughest. it's definitely a butt kicking from time to time, but it's good PT and builds good friendships.
