CHSPE Straight to UC

Possible? I fulfill all the admission req's for University of California and have pretty stellar scores.
I see nothing specifically barring it but also nothing about someone thats successfully done it. Thoughts?

I see what you are saying and it is hypothetically possible. However, I’m not sure if the credits from your previous courses in high school would stay valid if you stop going to school after passing the CHSPE.

Now, I am NOT saying you shouldn’t take the CHSPE. Rather, I encourage you to, because some high schools award credits for high school graduation requirement to students upon passing the CHSPE. So, supposing that you school awards you some graduation credits for CHSPE, you could graduate earlier than normal students. You must discuss this with your counselor AND the principal (the principal is usually the one who’s more broad-minded).

I personally wouldn’t unless if your major is truly demanding and you know for sure that you couldn’t graduate within 4 years with that Bachelor’s.

My sister did what you might do as a sophomore, she’s in biomedical engineering and she did 3 years CC and hopefully 2 years at her university she transfers to. She will obtain the degree at the age of 21; still a year earlier rather than if she stayed and went to a 4-year college after senior year of HS.

So basically I would only do the CHPSE if you seriously and honestly have ALL of your plans ready for your future. I’m not even sure if UC allows CHPSE, you may have to go to community college first…but I’m not sure about this fact. You need to think about this seriously, write pros and cons, talk with friends/family/apprentices, etc. This is serious although at first it doesn’t seem it is.
