Your welcome! :)

Would you consider going someplace fun? I’m not sure, but I think the University of Miami has a good PR program…you’d probably have a great time there and not deal with snow!

It’s definitely farther away than you’re comfortable with, but maybe you’d consider giving it a try anyway! College can definitely be a time of changes and experimenting with new experiences!

"BU is not a very collegiate type of campus, nor is NYU (or Columbia). "

Northeastern and Boston College have more collegiate campuses. Northeastern has a more modern urban feel, while BC has a traditional gothic feel. BC is a bit outside the city, but I love their campus.

OP, this is a bit off your topic, but it is imperative you re-think the issue of financing your undergraduate education through mostly student loans (grants are fine)… If in fact your parents are comfortable with $10k contribution per year, and a private college COA is about $55k, do you realize 1) you’re talking about $160k+ in student loans and 2) it is not likely you could actually secure even half that amount in loan funding? 3) student loans cannot be forgiven in bankruptcy filing, and 4) that loan payback will constrict your choices of career, housing, vacations/entertainment and cars for 20-25 years?

I note the financial issue came up in the March meeting with your counselor and Mom (your first thread, last post). Has no progress been made on this in the ensuing seven months?

I think you should do some research on that topic… soon! If your Mom can only AFFORD $10k per year, than it is possible that private schools might give you substantial aid (for example, half tuition), but only if your 29 ACT and GPA are in the top quartile of their admitted students. If you can get a half tuition scholarship somewhere, then your loan obligation would cut almost in half.

Definitely agree with Dunn- don’t saddle yourself with huge loans!!!
