I am not sure which one to chose to study Civil Engineering.

They're both excellent. Have you been accepted to both, and do you know about financial aid yet? Have you visited the campuses?

It'd kind of boil down to which environment you prefer and what sort of financial aid packages you're getting at each school.

I have been admitted to both, but I have not recieved anything about my financial aid.

You can't go wrong with either.

I'm guessing you're not in-state?

If you're not instate, it's a more difficult decision. I'd visit both campuses and see which one you like more.

If you are instate, then obviously Cal (unless stanford gives you comparable financial aid). Why would you want to pay an $100,000 for a school that is regarded as inferior for your major?

If you are considering to transition to IB, consulting, or any of the more "prestigious careers" after graduation, then Stanford is probaby a better choice.
